<p>La Stellite 1 ha un elevato contenuto di carbonio (circa 2,5%) e contiene 11-13% di tungsteno, formando una grande quantità di carburi duri (come Cr₇C₃ e WC), che le conferiscono una durezza di 50-58 HRC. Questa elevata durezza e resistenza all'abrasione lo rendono eccellente per il taglio di legni duri, ma la sua tenacità relativamente bassa lo rende inadatto a sopportare impatti frequenti.</p>
<p><strong>Tipi di legno consigliati:</strong></p>
<p>Legni duri ad alta densità: Come mogano, palissandro, noce nero, ebano e okan. Questi legni sono densi e duri e causano una facile usura dei normali denti da sega. I carburi duri della Stellite 1 resistono efficacemente all'usura abrasiva, mantenendo un tagliente affilato.</p>

<p>La Stellite 12 ha un moderato contenuto di carbonio (circa 1,4-2,0%), un contenuto di tungsteno di 7,5-9,5% e una durezza di 45-51 HRC. La sua microstruttura contiene una percentuale inferiore di carburi rispetto alla Stellite 1, con conseguente migliore tenacità, pur mantenendo un'eccellente resistenza all'usura e alla corrosione, che la rende adatta a varie condizioni di lavoro complesse.</p>
<p><strong>Applicazioni del legno consigliate:</strong></p>
<p>Legni teneri e legni medio-duri: Come cedro, pino, pioppo e altri legni teneri. La resistenza all'abrasione della Stellite 12 è sufficiente per questi tipi di legni e la sua tenacità riduce il rischio di scheggiature durante il taglio.</p>
